Who we are
Telemachus Studio is a collaborative multidisciplinary architecture and design firm in Los Angeles.
Our work spans a variety of scale from intricate fabrication projects to large, ground-up structures. We move seamlessly between small and large scale thinking while remaining closely connected to building and fabrication. We work primarily on infill residential and commercial projects throughout Los Angeles and beyond: ADU, custom single-family, spec single-family, multifamily ranging from 2-50 units, small-scale commercial and Public Art.
Telemachus Studio has vast experience with complicated city planning, entitlement and permit processing. Specializing in ADU’s and conversions for single family and multifamily projects, SB9, SB9 lot splits, Small Lot Subdivision, condo projects and parcel maps. We have extensive experience working in Venice, Santa Monica, throughout the city of Los Angeles, LA County, San Bernardino County and Orange County.
Located at the Brewery Artist Loft Complex near downtown Los Angeles, Telemachus Studio has grown with the insight, creativity and resources of the community. Our space here has given us the ability to explore materials and build in an open, collaborative community.
Telemachus Studio provides thoughtful design and execution on a wide variety of projects. Our goal is to help build our client’s brand recognition by bringing well-executed, high-value projects to the marketplace.
Consistent through all our work is the commitment to the development of a strong idea that becomes the driving force for the design and the ability to carry the design thinking all the way through and into the details.
The Story of Telemachus
The name Telemachus is taken from Homer’s The Odyssey. Telemachus was the son of Odysseus and Penelope. Telemachus and his father were separated by Odysseus’ reluctant departure for the Trojan War. Twenty years later, Telemachus was one of the few who believed in his father’s survival, and sought to protect Odysseus’ kingdom from those that would corrupt it. Eventually, Telemachus set out to find his father and in doing so embarked on a symbolic quest for truth, a quest for self. In turn, we hope to be that modern day Telemachus; our investigations into architecture, art and practice becoming our metaphoric quest for self.
